The Casavecchia 'Violabianca' by Scaramuzzo has a counterintuitive name: a red, named after a white. It is a moderately structured red, juicy and of good substance, obtained from pure Casavecchia. It originates in the Alto Casertano, where it ferments and ages in steel, with a small part of the mass maturing in French barriques. On the nose, it reveals a dark profile, with aromas of black plum, tobacco, white pepper, and black tea. On the palate, it is substantial, fleshy, and has present but non-invasive tannins. Ideal with braised beef or a cheese like caciocavallo podolico
