The Vermentino di Gallura “S’Eleme Oro” from the Cantina del Vermentino is a Sardinian wine that presents itself with a calling card where fruity aromas stand out as the protagonists. Fresh and intense are indeed the scents of well-ripened apple and white peach, enriched at the end of the olfactory examination by almond returns. An identity label, in which the territory emerges thanks to the palate's savoriness that recalls the proximity to the sea, which infiltrates between the rows thanks to the breezes that daily sweep through Gallura.
The “S’Eleme Oro” is a Vermentino di Gallura that comes from recently planted vineyards, located about 450 meters above sea level. We find ourselves within a terroir characterized by granite decomposition soils, often battered by salty winds, capable, especially in summer, of mitigating the hot temperatures. The grapes, carefully harvested during the harvest phase, are destemmed, and the berries are sent for pressing. The must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, remaining in steel for a few months to refine. At the end of this period, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed by the Cantina del Vermentino.
S’Eleme Oro” reveals itself visually with a straw yellow color, crossed by more greenish reflections visible especially at the rim. The nose is a beautiful succession of crunchy and refreshing notes, from which a clear reference to fruit and almond is perceived. On the palate, it is light, straightforward, and youthful, with a dry, enveloping sip, characterized by the good savoriness of the finish. A label with which the Cantina del Vermentino, a production reality that today can count on as many as 200 member suppliers, pays the right tribute to the Sardinian terroir of Gallura.
