Vermentino Colli di Luni 'Etichetta Grigia' Lunae Bosoni 2022 - 37.5cl
The Vermentino "Gray Label" is a light and balanced Ligurian white wine aged in steel. On the nose, it is fine and elegant, with notes of hawthorn, renetta apple, and white peach. On the palate, it is very fresh, with beautiful savoriness and floral character.
The Vermentino "Etichetta Grigia" is a fresh and fruity white wine, aged in steel, which with its immediate pleasantness well represents the character of Ligurian Vermentino. The area of Colli di Luni is the eastern edge of Liguria bordering Tuscany, extending from the Gulf of La Spezia to the Apuan Alps, a small territory with a unique microclimate, where fresh winds from the mountains alternate with the mild breezes from the sea, creating a thermal excursion that favors the maturation of fragrant and intense grapes. The name of the winery Lunae Bosoni derives from the Latin name of the city of Luni, an ancient coastal settlement of Etruscan, Greek, and later Roman origin, always an important stop and crossroads of peoples and goods. From this ancient historical origin arises the great winemaking tradition of the territory, which has its roots in the millennia of experience of the peoples who have inhabited this splendid area between the sea and the mountains.
The grapes used to produce the Vermentino "Etichetta Grigia" come from vineyards cultivated in small plots, all located in the most suitable areas of the territory between the municipalities of Ortonovo and Castelnuovo Magra. The Vermentino has adapted perfectly to the area of the Colli di Luni, thanks to its preference for the warm, ventilated Mediterranean climate and for the exposures close to the coast, which also characterize its presence in Sardinia and Corsica. The vines are cultivated on stony and skeleton-rich soils, with Guyot training systems at a density of 4000 vines per hectare and have an average age of about 35 years. After manual harvesting, soft pressing follows and fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wine matures in steel until February, when bottling takes place.
The Etichetta Grigia from the Cantina Lunae Bosoni is the most typical direct and immediate interpretation of Vermentino, encapsulating its fruity fragrance and freshness, making the drink pleasantly smooth and easy. In the glass, it presents a straw yellow color. The bouquet expresses delicate floral aromas, notes of white fruit, and citrus. The sip is slender and savory, with a juicy fruit center and a finish of beautiful freshness. At the table, it finds perfect pairings with seafood menus.
