The Turi Rosso by Salvatore Marino is a Sicilian red wine made from Nero d'Avola, a historic indigenous Sicilian grape variety. Simple and genuine, this wine is suitable for everyday dining and gives its best when paired with red meat and game dishes. On the palate, it is juicy, intense, and enveloping, slightly tannic on the finish where subtle mineral nuances emerge, which also return to the nose, refreshing a wide and fragrant bouquet in which notes of berries, cherry, and plum are accompanied by pleasant balsamic hints.

The Red ‘Turi’ from the Sicilian producer Salvatore Marino is a bottle with a warm Mediterranean embrace, born from a genuinely artisanal production approach. Salvatore Marino started his winemaking project in 2017, driven by a great passion for the vineyard and the ancient traditions linked to it, taking up the mantle of his family that has been dedicated to viticulture in Pachino, at the southeastern tip of Sicily, for 5 generations. Among Salvatore's beliefs, sustainability holds a prominent place, with a view to respecting the ecosystem that involves the use of mature organic manure and the practice of green manuring to promote the biological fertility of the soil.

Salvatore Marino ‘Turi’ Rosso is born from a solid base of Nero d’Avola, combined with 9% Pugnitello and just 1% of rare varieties. The vines are trained in Pachinese bush style on medium-textured soils tending towards calcareous-clay, characterized by a good presence of gravel. The vineyard, located in Contrada Buonivini, has an average age of 25 years, is situated at an altitude of just 34 meters above sea level, and enjoys a full southern exposure. After the manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation for 6 days in contact with the skins at controlled temperature. Once the malolactic fermentation is also carried out spontaneously, the wine matures until the spring following the harvest, at which point bottling takes place.

The color of Salvatore Marino’s ‘Turi’ Rosso is ruby red with violet reflections. Notes of cherry, berries, and plum characterize the nose along with hints of Mediterranean herbs and mineral suggestions. The tasting is warm, intense, and enveloping, very juicy and with light tannins.
