The Salice Salentino from the Produttori di Manduria is a soft and fruity red wine born from 25-year-old Puglian bush-trained vineyards, matured in oak barrels and barriques. Aromas of red fruit, sour cherries, and berries blend with spicy and toasted nuances in a full-bodied, dry, and Mediterranean sip.
The Salice Salentino Riserva from the Produttori di Manduria winery is a soft red wine with good structure obtained from grapes mainly of Negroamaro and a small percentage of Malvasia Nera. The vineyards used to produce this pleasant red have an average age of about 25 years and are cultivated using the traditional Apulian alberello method, which allows the clusters to be sheltered from strong winds and maximizes the supply of water and minerals for the vine during periods of extreme drought. The winery, which is a cooperative representing 400 producers in the area, has a vineyard area of 900 hectares and implements "integrated pest management," a series of measures to protect crops while drastically reducing the use of harmful pesticides for the vine itself.
The Riserva Salice Salentino from the Produttori di Manduria is produced from grapes harvested generally in the second half of September and pressed in the winery to obtain the must that will then undergo alcoholic fermentation. After fermentation, which takes place for several weeks in stainless steel containers at controlled temperature, the wine is aged for a minimum of two years, of which about 6 months in a mix of barriques and large oak barrels.
