The Pinot Noir 'Kaiserstuhl' by Salwey is a classy German red. The winery's vineyards are located on volcanic soils in the Baden region, an area highly suited for 'Spätburgunder', the German name for the variety. The grapes are harvested from the best vineyards and mature in barrique before being bottled without any filtration. Intense on the nose with hints of fruit, fragrant spices, and mineral notes, on the palate it impresses with the contrast between the strength of the tannins and the silkiness of the sip. Warm and with a volcanic character, it is a wine capable of aging for a long time
