Pinot Nero Grosjean 2025
The Pinot Noir from Grosjean is a balanced and elegant red wine that expresses the territory of the Aosta Valley. The nose reveals notes of small berries, cherry, plum, red flowers, and light herbal memories. In line with the olfactory examination, the palate is soft and elegant, with fine tannins and pleasant mineral freshness.
The Pinot Noir from Grosjean is a refined, fresh, and pleasantly fruity wine that plays its best expressive cards by bringing to the forefront and enhancing the varietal aromas of a grape of exceptional quality. Pinot Noir seems to have been cultivated in the Aosta Valley in ancient times, but in any case, it has found in the alpine area the pedoclimatic conditions to express itself at interesting levels. Vocation soils, strong temperature excursions, and sunny, breezy days lead to the ripening of excellent grapes, which give a balanced and harmonious wine, ideal for tasting with white meats or noble poultry.
The red Pinot Noir from Grosjean is produced with grapes coming from some plots located in the areas of Quart and Saint Christophe, which are between 30 and 40 years old. The vines are cultivated with a sunny exposure facing south and southwest, on steep slopes characterized by sandy soils rich in skeleton, shallow, resting directly on the bedrock. Between the rows, the principles of organic farming are applied, using only sulfur, copper, and fertilization with manure. The harvest takes place around mid-September and the grapes are quickly transferred to the winery for vinification. Fermentation occurs with 70% destemmed grapes, 30% whole clusters, and with a maceration on the skins of about ten days at a temperature of 28/30 °C. The wine matures for 50% in steel tanks and for 50% in wood for a few months and finishes aging in the bottle.
The Pinot Noir from Grosjean is a medium-bodied red that interprets the noble Burgundy grape in the sense of youthful fragrance and fruity freshness. It is a bottle that caters to the grape's vocation to express itself with pleasant lightness, thanks to a delicate and very respectful vinification process of the raw material. In appearance, it presents a bright light ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is elegant, with notes of red currant, raspberry, sour cherry, wild strawberries, mountain wild herbs, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is agile and smooth with delicate fruit, fine tannins, and a sip that leads to a fresh and slightly savory finish.
