Nero di Troia Notte Rossa 2025
The Nero di Troia by Notte Rossa is a Puglian red wine with a Mediterranean sip, soft and rich, aged for 6 months in barrels. Aromas of Mediterranean herbs, sweet spices, pepper, licorice, and light toasted and cocoa hints introduce a enveloping tasting experience, medium-bodied and highly elegant, with pleasant freshness and delicate tannins. Ideal to serve with rich dishes, such as meat mains or baked pasta!
The Nero di Troia, produced by the Notte Rossa winery, is a label with a intense and Mediterranean profile, which very well illustrates the character of this grape cultivated mainly in the northern area of the region. Its strong character and robust personality provide a red wine with ripe aromas, good aromatic complexity, enhanced and exalted by the evolutionary notes from aging in wood. Its tasting peculiarities make it suitable for pairing with grilled meat, beef roasts, or mixed grills.
The Nero di Troia wine is part of the wide range of Notte Rossa, a winery from Puglia committed to the pure enhancement of varieties that have been present in the region for centuries. The vineyards of Nero di Troia are located in the classic area of this ancient indigenous Puglian grape. The cultivation area is, in fact, situated in the Alta Murgia region, about 180 meters above sea level, on calcareous-clay soils, rich in skeleton, which rest on banks of limestone rocks. The Mediterranean climate, mitigated by constant sea breezes and characterized by good temperature excursions, favors a ripening of the grapes with intense aromas. At the end of the harvest operations, the best bunches are sent for fermentation at controlled temperature, with a maceration on the skins for about ten days. The wine rests for 6 months in French and American oak barriques and is marketed after a brief aging in the bottle.
The red Nero di Troia Notte Rossa is a very interesting bottle, allowing one to appreciate in purity and its clear expressive richness, a wine too often overshadowed by the popularity of Primitivo and Negroamaro. In the glass, it has a very intense ruby red color with bright reflections. On the nose, it expresses a bouquet characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit, plums, cherry, sour cherry, blackberry, hints of spontaneous shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub, aromas of soft oriental spices, vanilla, licorice root, toasted nuances of roasting and bitter cocoa. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a pleasant tannic relief, ripe and complex aromas, which stretch towards a fresh, persistent, and harmonious finish.
