Marsala Superiore Riserva Oro Marco De Bartoli 2009 - 50cl
The Marsala Superiore Riserva Oro is a Sicilian fortified wine of great complexity and aromatic breadth, aged for 10 years in oak and chestnut barrels using the solera method. Its aromas are intense, of beeswax, citrus and dried fruit; the sip is soft and warm, dry and citrusy, with endless persistence.
The Marsala Superiore Riserva Oro by De Bartoli presents itself in the glass with an enchanting orange hue. The nose is paradigmatic and captivates from the first sniff. It has everything one expects to find in a great oxidative wine, from walnut husk to oriental spices, from orange peel to dried dates, all with the sea of Marsala in the background. The sip is splendid, slender, and driven by an almost marine salinity as well as a refreshing acidity. Persistence truly unquantifiable. A cyclone.
