'L'inquisitore' Decugnano dei Barbi 2023
The Sauvignon Blanc 'L'Inquisitore' by Decugnano dei Barbi comes from an old Umbrian vineyard and takes its name from an almost provocative invitation not to judge the wine before tasting it. On the label, in fact, appears the motto Dat Rosa Mel Apibus, which means 'the rose gives honey to the bees', an ancient formula that alludes to hidden wisdom revealed only to those who know how to grasp it, an echo that ties well to the act of tasting without prejudice. On the nose, it opens with notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, hints of citrus and a typical herbaceous vein of the grape variety, enriched by light spicy hints. On the palate, it is full, savory and persistent, supported by a pleasant freshness. Ideal paired with a shrimp and saffron risotto.
