The Etna Rosso "Contrada Rampante" is an enveloping and dense wine, almost fiery on the palate, with spicy, floral, and fruity notes. Markedly full-bodied, elegant, mineral, and with silky tannins wrapping around the sip. Born from very old vines and aged for 18 months in barrel

The Etna Rosso “Contrada Rampante” by Pietradolce is a wine of great character, which immediately tells its story with a fascinating complexity. A Nerello Mascalese born from old vines, which offers an elegant sip, with a high level of pleasantness thanks to a finely integrated tannin in the overall structure of a wine that benefits from a wood aging period of over a year. A bottle that is always enjoyable to drink, never becoming tiring but rather engaging the nose and palate in a symphony of enviable flavors and aromas.

The “Contrada Rampante” signed by Pietradolce is an Etna Rosso that originates from the grape symbol of this part of Sicily, the Nerello Mascalese. The vines grow using the alberello system and are about 80-90 years old. The terroir, located about 850 meters above sea level, consists of a sandy-loam texture, where the presence of skeleton is abundant. The must obtained from the gentle pressing of the grapes ferments in steel, macerating in contact with the skins for a total of 18 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. The production process ends with aging, which lasts a total of 14 months and takes place in French oak tonneaux.

total duration of 14 months and takes place in French oak tonneaux.

“Contrada Rampante” Etna Rosso signed by Pietradolce asserts itself in the glass with a ruby color, characterized by some reflections tending more towards garnet at the rim. Refined is the bouquet that develops on the nose, where various aromas emerge with mineral, spicy, floral, and fruity notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, concentrated, with a very fine and smooth tannin, which contributes to creating a fluid drink, marked by good freshness. An excellently crafted label that tells the desire to amaze from the Etna wine region.
