'Concrete' Rosato De Fermo 2025
"Concrete" is a rosé wine of great purity and depth made by De Fermo, an Abruzzo winery in Loreto Aprutino. The name "Concrete" is inspired by the winemaking process that takes place in cement with brief skin contact. With a pale pink color, it presents a profile of great purity, cleanliness, and depth, with a pleasant hint of strawberry, aromatic herbs, and red flowers.
The family-run Abruzzo winery De Fermo presents the Rosé ‘Concrete’, a bottle with a genuine and pure soul made according to a nature-respecting approach that honors its delicate balances. In 2010, Stefano Papetti Ceroni and his wife Eloisa de Fermo decided to continue her family's winemaking activity, dating back to the late 1700s, immediately embracing a sustainable production spirit based on the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Within the estate, located in Loreto Aprutino, there are rows of traditional grape varieties Montepulciano, Pecorino, and Trebbiano, as well as some international varieties.
The De Fermo ‘Concrete’ Rosé is produced with only red grapes grown according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture on soils mainly composed of clay and limestone. The harvest is done entirely by hand in small crates, and the bunches are then vinified as rosé through a short maceration on the skins of about 1-2 hours, followed by the spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the must in cement tanks through the action of only indigenous yeasts, without temperature control. Throughout the entire process, the use of clarification or filtration operations is prohibited.
The ‘Concrete’ Rosé from the artisanal Abruzzese winery De Fermo is of an intense pale pink color. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits such as wild strawberries and raspberries, along with hints of rose petals and aromatic herbs, combined with pleasant mineral notes. Fresh, clean, and deep on the palate, with great energy and a pleasant persistence of fruity and floral sensations. A rosé wine to pair with platters of cured meats and medium-aged cheeses, as well as with legume soups or flavorful fish main courses.
